LANCASHIRE ECP BRANCHES ON CHRISTMAS CHARITY MISSION

The Morecambe and Blackpool branches of LKQ Euro Car Parts team has raised more than £1,000 in support of Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas campaign – to help make sure no child wakes up on Christmas morning without something to unwrap.

The fundraising activity was organised by the business’s Morecambe branch manager, Kyle Robinson, and Margaret Heap from the Blackpool branch.

Charity provides presents for disadvantaged kidsap from its Blackpool branch.

As part of their fundraising campaign, the team organised a raffle and a sponsored head shave – and they used the proceeds to buy Christmas presents for disadvantaged children in the local area.

Robinson donated the gifts dressed as Santa and, because the team raised more than double their £500 target, he was joined by regional manager, Mark Hill.

Robinson said: “After becoming a father for the second time last year, I can’t imagine what it must be like for kids to wake up with nothing to unwrap on Christmas Day.

“Hopefully the money we’ve raised and the gifts we’ve bought will make at least a small difference to some families’ Christmases, after what’s been a challenging year for many. And if that required Mark and I to make fools of ourselves in Santa costumes, then so be it!”

Cash for Kids aims to help the one in three children in the UK who live in poverty, and last year raised more than £20 million. The Mission Christmas initiative is run in partnership with Rock FM.
