SURVEY: PARTS SUPPLY AND CUSTOMERS BIGGEST GARAGE WORRIES

Survey findings displayed as a pie chart.

A survey of 94 garages has shown that finding new customers and parts ordering and supply post-Brexit are among the biggest areas of concern for them.

The poll, carried out by online aggregator ClickMechanic also revealed what costs in their business cause mechanics and independent garages the most cause for concern. A third of the respondents said that spending on car parts was their highest expense at this time while 17.2% said that trade insurance had become a costly affair.

Interestingly staff costs did not feature as a major cost of concern which may be reflected by the fact that many garages made use of the furlough scheme over the year past.
