CAT Awards 2024: Andy Palmer announced as guest speaker

Andy Palmer, dubbed the godfather of electric cars for his work on bringing the then-revolutionary Nissan Leaf to market, will be our guest speaker at the CAT Awards 2024.

Palmer, who started his career at 16 as an technical apprenticeship with aftermarket firm UK Automotive Products Limited, will be answering questions at the event on 15 February at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel.

Now the CEO of electric vehicle charging firm Pod Point, Palmer is best known for his time as Nissan COO where he was behind the development of the Leaf.

Among the scores of positions he’s held, Palmer is also well known for his six-year tenure as boss of Aston Martin where he oversaw the launch of the brand’s first SUV, the DBX, and first mid-engined sports car, the monstrous Valkyrie hypercar.

Tickets for the event have now sold out.
