LAUNCH SECURITY GATEWAY APPROVED BY VM

Launch Tech UK has been approved by VM giant Stellantis for an official security gateway licence, for its diagnostic devices to perform diagnostic functions previously blocked by vehicles from the former Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group.

2014: Garages advised not to rely on one diagnostic tool

By having the official gateway licence,  users of the diagnostic platform can widen their services for customers to cover additional vehicles.

Tools will now work better with former FCA Group vehicles

From 2018 onwards all FCA vehicles are equipped with a security gateway module, which the company says is ‘designed to prevent CAN bus hacking and block diagnostic functions by unlicensed third-party diagnostic devices’.

The new licence will give users access to perform additional functions on Fiat vehicles such as reading ECU version information and diagnostic trouble codes, offer clear diagnostic trouble codes, read live data, actuation tests and service functions.

The latest Launch Tech UK diagnostic products approved for the licence include various models of the x431 EuroTab and EuroPro. Contact your tool dealer for more information.
