The ultimate statement of luxury and staple of Britain is next up on our ramp for further investigation.
Land Rover’s Range Rover L322 was BMW’s attempt to replace the P38 as the German brand attempted to sprinkle some of the stardust that reignited the Mini brand before Ford took over.
The L322 initially came fitted with BMW-derived engines, electronics and infotainment systems, but over time these were replaced with Ford/Jaguar alternatives. Therefore the Rangie came with a selection of powerplants and engine codes which workshops need to be wary of. There was a selection of petrol V8 engines including a 4.2-, 4.4- and 5.0-litre, and 2.9-, 3.6- and 4.4-litre diesels.
The Range Rovers came with with automatic gearboxes with five, six and eight-speed units used throughout this generation.
